About the Author
Robert Cameron has been a photographer since 1921 when his father gave him a "Brownie" camera and encouraged him to use it. Cameron is now in his 90's and has published 16 of his "Above" books. He was a photographer for the Des Moines Register in the 1930's. Cameron learned the art of aerial photography during World War II, while shooting pictures of militaly installations for the War Department. Cameron is a member of the Royal Photographic Society and a member of the Presidents Council of the International Center of Photography. His work has been exhibited in Paris at La Bibliotheque Historique and the Foundation Mona Bismarck. In New York at the International Center of Photography, the New York City Municipal Arts Foundation. In San Francisco at the Vision Gallery, City Hall and the Pacific Center for Photographic Arts. In Chicago's O'Hare airport. In China at the New Gallery of Art in Shanghai and at the Forbidden City. Cameron is currently working on his highly anticipated new book "Above Mexico City".

i have been collecting rob cameron books since the 70s. they're all well bound, have great pictures and narratives to read.
Oldie but goodie -- I'm surprised it's never been updated. Color reproduction isn't great, even for 1983, but nice large-format photos, unmatcheable perspectives, and cool historic photos compared to then-current views, 33 years ago or more. Very nice old book.Available used here for the price of shipping -- and this is a big book (11 x 14"). Kind of a no-brainer, if you're a Yosemite fan. Others in this series by Cameron that I've liked: Above Carmel, Monterey and Big Sur;Above San Francisco .Happy reading--Peter D. Tillman
What can you say about a book on one of the most beautiful places on earth, I mean how can you make this place more spectacular...well this book does it. Mr. Cameron is such an amazing photographer, that he would make Ansel Adams take note. Not since the before mentioned Mr. Adams has Yosemite looked better. The park is photographed from every conceiveable arial angle; just spectacular. I highly recommend this book to anyone who appreciates great photography and mother nature at her best.
