LOVE THIS! I already wrote In This Journal and it is amazing I mean completely amazing John has done it once again with his talent he has come up with something that can help people with their depression and anxiety you know it's it's not just about coloring it's about letting it out and writing about it cuz some of us you know like me for instance you know I say I'm going to journal but I don't but this is a different kind of journaling and I like this this is something new this is something that I love and it's inspiring and if you're like anything like me was mental health issues and you know have very bad days and depressed days and down days and some updates this book is very good for you so I would recommend it to anybody!

Had a bad day, week, month or year? This is the place to let it all out. No, it might now be as fun an lighting an arrow on fire and shooting it into a effigy of something you hate that is doused in gasoline, but this is 1) much more fun and 2) has much more long term satisfaction and 3) unlike blowing something up in the real world which makes one hell of a mess, here you can vent, then let go and then vent again like 49 more times over. Small things, like naming the "###weed of the Day" can bring a smile to your face that no amount of alcohol could, short of you not wanting to feel your face, but this can help with that also as it has lots of direction to help steer your rage against the man or woman or machine that has pissed you off.Plus it doesn't have to all be bad. This journal also has entry options for how you can make things better. It has lots of little boxes you can write in that cover a wide range of good and bad things and it's good to be directed in case your mind goes all zombie at the end of your day. The beauty here is that after you've let it out, after you've spewed all that vile crap the world buried you under onto a page, you have a variety of cute little monsters that you can then color. You can also stab them with a pitchfork if your venting failed to expunge enough out of your system. Just don't light it on fire because then you have a mess although in my case I bought a backup copy...just in case. Two actually.

John T. is my favorite adult coloring/activity book artist. His work is high quality, affordable and fun. I love this particular book because it lets me take out my frustrations by filling in the blanks, color to relax and then the"word of the day" gives me the opportunity to reflect and turn things to a positive.... OR not, as I see fit. This book is just perfect to let out my rage and also to relax.

Thought a journal that focused on getting the angry thoughts and issues that kids feel with divorced parents would be good. However this is not the journal for that. This is more for a teen with angst and rebellion not for an elementary student. The title is misleading as it refers to the "bad days" an indicator of the language used should be in the title.

I have bought about 20 of these journals now!!! I absolutely LOVE these books. I handed them out as christmas gifts, everyone was excited to get them and ready to start writing in them right away, even those who do not normally journal. Definitely a good way to start out if you have been wanting to try journaling but just cant bring yourself to do it. This book is just perfect for the beginners. You can get the negativity out on one side and be reminded of the positive on the next page. I'm a huge fan of John T. Keep the books coming, they just keep getting better and better.People please read the description, it clearly states, this book is not intended for children.

This was another great idea, John T. Never disappoints! 2018 has been Sucky to say the least so this journal is a God send....Also how did he know I needed a spot for Crappy day music playlist.....(this guy reads my mind).

Such a simple concept, but sooooo therapeutic.First you rant and rave. Swear, scribble or whatever feels right. Then the journal prompts you to find something good.Cute little illustrations and sassy cuss words add to the appeal.Not a child's book, but great for the sweary adult who's inner child is kind of a punk.

Trying to keep a journal has been rather difficult but with this great book I can see myself doing just that. And with it being holiday time the timing is perfect. No one has the perfect life so for those days you need to deal with the difficulties get this book. It is perfect.

This is a difficult book to review. On the one hand, it's beautifully written, the prose is fantastic, and the backstory has clearly been meticulously planned out. On the other hand, not much happens and that backstory makes things a little confusing.Wren is an Augur, one branch of the old Druids of Ireland. Augurs are at war with Judges, the other branch, over magical sites called nemeta. Without nemeta, each side loses their powers. A nemeta can only work for either augurs or judges, not both. The judges are 'winning' at the moment, with more and stronger nemeta than the augurs have. Wren's coven come up with a risky plan to have her work for the area's leading judge to look for a map that will help them find nemeta. At least, that's what Wren is told is the plan.Of course there's a handsome boy judge, and of course there's double crossing and confusion and changes of information and Wren wavering from one group to the other. By the time the story ends I'm honestly not 100% sure which side she's on; I'm fairly sure I know, but not certain.The story's unmoored in time, too. There's one mention of Coke and one of a Kardashian. If not fir those I would have guessed 100 years ago.Apart from those things, though, it's a good, interesting story, and I'll be watching out for the sequel.Receiving an ARC did not alter my opinion in any way.

Tl;dr: A fresh, exciting contemporary/historical fantasy novel aimed at young adults but good for adults as well.The Wren Hunt is so good! The first few chapters might be a bit confusing for those unfamiliar with Irish/Celtic mythology as Ms. Watson starts the novel with a (literal) chase and doesn't let up the pace at all-- rather than going for the typical " here's all the info!" dump found in so many fantasy novels, you're left, much like Wren, the mc is, to figure it all out.The writing is lyrical and concise--there isn't a word wasted here. As for the plot, no spoilers except to say there are several twists in The Wren Hunt, most of which aren't surprising but one, at least for me, was as unexpected as it was for Wren. I love it when a novel surprises me!I also have to say that it was utterly refreshing to have the main male charcter's name be Tarquin. I mean, Tarquin! Granted, he goes by Tarc, but still. Given that use of the name usually inspires a character who is a total prat, I loved seeing it repurposed so awesomely.And! The way The Wren Hunt mixes contemporary and historical, fantasy and folklore--and does it all without being hundreds and hundreds of pages? Awesome with a side of fabulous!Finally, I do hope this a stand alone! I loved the ending, which didn't tie everything up--and I adore that because life very rarely ends neatly and it's wonderful when novels do that: show you a world, make you care, and let you go with a kiss of hope as you leave.I do think The Wren Hunt will appeal to teen readers--I am certainly going to do my best to get it to Maggiec Stiefvaetr fans and even all the fantasy readers who think they don't like contemporary novels, and I think it would appeal to adult readers as well, especially those looking for a well written and fast paced contemporary novel that mixes fantasy, folklore, and even mystery in a fresh way.I did receive an ARC, but liked this so much I preordered it, and will be investigating Ms. Hunt's backlist through The Book Depository.The Wren Hunt is a well written, fast paced, and unique novel that appeals to fans of almost any genre? What's not to love?! An easy five stars.

The Wren Hunt is a book about magical beings in our world, but I was totally unconvinced. It took me a long time to figure out where the setting was and even then I wasn't completely sure. I had a hard time juxtaposing T.V's and cans of Coke with the magical characters. They just didn't seem to mesh well together, despite the authors best efforts. I'm not expecting to everything about the magical world or how it operates but we weren't given enough throughout the beginning for me to really understand what was going on or how their world operated.We open to a scene where Wren is chased through the woods by boys from the rival magic gang(family?). Apparently this happens every year and a trophy is taken. It's unclear as to why they chase her and don't celebrate the Wren Hunt like the rest of the world. It's never mentioned why they don't go to the police about the chase or why it even happens at all. I'm not sure what the Wren Hunt is even about.I don't sympathize with Wren nor connect with her. I don't with any of the characters for that matter.I'm not sure what I was hoping to get from this book, but I certainly didn't get it. There was nothing that really stood out for me about this book and I spent most of the time confused and not really enjoying what I was reading.*Thank you to Netgalley for this review copy*

The Wren Hunt was such a unique book. I loved the mythology, the long-standing feud between the two magical factions, and the juxtaposition of magic and the modern world. The Augurs and the Judges were both intriguing, I liked that the author delved a bit into the history of the conflict and explained more about each side. There were also some great family dynamics. I enjoyed seeing how the relationships between characters developed and changed over the course of the book. However, the ending felt a little rushed and incomplete to me. I was left with a lot of unanswered questions about the world and how certain aspects of the book tied in. Although this is a standalone, the ending really felt more like a setup for a sequel. It's very informative

As described.

This book has been around for a long time but it is a very good book to read-aloud to young children. Today's kids are too young to remember what things were like prior to MLK. It's hard for them to hear but they need to know the history.

Excellent addition to our series. It is very interesting for kids and very readable...easy to follow.

Kindle books always save me money and time! This is an excellent introductory book for all grade school students to read.

I used this book to help teach my 8 year old son about a great man. He enjoyed it and wants to read more.

Meet Martin Luther king, Jr. is a well written book about Dr. King. Written by James T. de Kay in 1969 this book beautifully illustrates Dr. King’s life. The story follows his life from boyhood hood falls, to the sit-ins, to his death. Dr. King’s fight against segregation is inspiring. It is a must read.miles

Given as gift to people who relocated to Connecticut. They are thrilled and will start to use this as a go to guide.

we live in broad brook, connecticut and this is the first year we've had kayaks. in the early summer we met a woman on the scantic river near the somersville dam and she recommended this book. best tip of the year. there are so many great paddles in here that you'd never know about just by looking on a map. we'd been driving around, shooting in the dark, and mostly being disappointed by what we found. every paddle we've taken out of the book has been excellent. can't recommend it highly enough.

Love these authors. Great book to Pick up and choose a place for the weekend paddle. Need to cross reference directions.

Fun book to have in your car for random and impromptu trips

It is the bible for us quiet water paddlers. My only problem is that I keep loaning to friends who never seem to return it. This last order of two copies makes my fourth and fifth copies of the book...

Another great paddle. Others have borrowed this book and then went ahead and bought it.

I still have yet to explore most of the rivers, but love the format complete with maps and interesting info.

It could have been more comprehensive as it does not include all available water worth paddling in the areas listed.

Mr. Archer . has / had real life experiences as a cop, or some very impressive friends who are. Truth, I'm a 27 year veteran cop/detective from a major mid western town. A plain street cop, serious under cover cop, and finally over ten years as a leading detectiveI picked this book knowing absolutely nothing about it. Truthfully I was pleasantly surprised to find it was about a wounded retired cop. I certainly wasn't expecting much from a free Kindle read, but was constantly and pleasantly surprised.The multiple plot changes were smooth, believable and surprising! I knew exactly how Mr. Prichard felt at every surprising turn.

This was a very good mystery . A lot of action, suspense, and a book you just didn't want to put down . It's story line was , I would say a feel good story. Highly recommend

I chose this book because it had great reviews and yes, it was free. It was horribly generic and the perfect cookie cutter way everything just flows is so far beyond belief I felt as though I was reading a bad t.v. show. Very unrealistic . I never leave a book unfinished but I just couldn't wade through this sappy lackluster story

This novel was not well written and I almost gave up four times. I did not think that people in Colorado spoke like Texans, but even if they do, having them say y'know, young feller, and drop the endings of their words constantly is very distracting. The dialogue is what the author struggles most with! He uses unnecessary exclamation points! In every paragraph! After giving a woman he has known for A DAY a thousand dollars to decorate a guest room in his house for her daughter, the protagonist says he likes to 'take things slow.' I laughed out loud. I have no idea what all of these positive reviews are talking about. True, there was no sex and very little language, but also little action and even less sense. Save yourself!

Sam Prichard is seriously wounded during a drug bust gone terribly wrong. The police department sets him up with a generous retirement package, but he soon finds he has too much time on his hands. His love life is lacking and he's finally finished restoring his Corvette. When a frantic woman shows up on his doorstep, pleading with Sam to help her find her granddaughter, he can't say no. Teaming up with single mom and computer whiz, Indie Perkins, it's soon discovered that the missing girl has been used as collateral in a drug deal, by her drug dealing father no less. But, are things really what they seem? Sam soon finds himself the pawn in a dangerous plot to gain control of an extremely important "package".When I describe The Grave Man this way, it sounds incredibly intriguing. And honestly the premise is good - the story is appealing. I found some of the plot was a little over the top. Sending a low-level drug dealer to transport something so vitally important didn't seem like a great idea to me, no matter how crucial it was to throw the bad guys off the trail. Indie and her four year old experience an extremely traumatic event and an hour later they're in the backyard, frolicking and kicking balls around? But this is fiction and plausibility is often thrown out for the sake of entertainment. I did enjoy the author's nod to a certain conspiracy theory, however.There's a lot of action in the book, so that was a plus. It's not a long read, in fact the last 10% or so of this book is really the beginning of the author's next book. The huge problem I had with this book was the atrocious editing. There's no excuse for poor editing, even (especially?) when self-publishing and even if the book is free. I'm not the only reviewer to mention this, so I would hope the author uses this constructive criticism to do a complete re-edit. Considering the incredible amount of typos, I can only give this book 3 stars.

Throughly enjoyed this book. A good guy with a human side and twisty plot to boot.

Alright, here's the deal with this book. The story is interesting, which is the only reason I didn't stop reading it.The language of the whole book felt like story time for adults. If you're an accomplished reader you'll go crazy reading this book. The excessive placement of exclamation marks alone made me want to edit the book for FREE for this author. However, I didn't notice the typos that others mentioned, so I am guessing the book has been updated. Throughout the story, I felt like the writer had a MLS guide pulled up to verify punctuation and sentence structure. It bothered me bad enough that I did not and probably won't buy the next book.For the characters, I felt like there could have been a lot more description. Many readers are visual people, so take a dang minute and tell me what they look like. Tall, pretty and cute are not the best descriptors. In my opinion, a GREAT book should play like a movie in your head while reading.Those things aside, the story was entertaining, and if it was written 10% better, I would have become a fan.

This is the first in a very poorly written private investigator series. Unrealistic and sophomoric to say the least. Former cop Sam Pritchard needs a computer hacker to help find a missing child who was kidnapped by her drug dealing father. He places an ad on Craigslist and within 3 hours Indie Perkins shows up at the restaurant where Sam was having lunch looking for the job. She tracked him down using her computer hacking skills She's young, attractive and down on her luck. She's homeless, living day to day in homeless shelters with her 4 year old daughter. She's also well qualified having recently graduated in the top of her class at MIT. Sam and Indie hit it off. Sam hires her and invites her and her daughter to stay in in house. She accepts and the next day with a few clicks on her laptop and a little legwork by Sam the missing child is located and returned unharmed. This is just the beginning, it's all downhill from here and it gets much worse. I don't understand all the positive reviews this book got. It's one of the worse books I have ever read and I real a lot.
