My favorite type of paintings, posters and comics are of strong beautiful women that are sensual but not necessarily pornographic. The art of the calendar is absolutely amazing, very detailed, with an other-wordly creepiness/magic to some of them. Very impressed and pleased with the tone of the art and the calendar as a whole.

I love the art of Luis Royo and I always allow myself the luxury of a calendar I will enjoy seeing every month of the year. This year while looking for my usual strange calendars that include The Crow and/or Bruce Lee, I ran across this one and fell in love with the art. I love the calendar itself because it has large, clear squares for each day I can write on and is the perfect size. The prints included on the calendar are just as beautiful as they appeared in the ad.

Love this. Been a fan of Luis Royo since many moons. His raunchy ones are the best, but this will do. The collection on this is very nice. I've seen others that I like better, like the Gorilla King with two hot sexy slave girl, the blond chick spreading her legs and the two topless gothic girls doing their thing, but hard to find it on calendars. If you are a fan, you will love this. The print is calendar quality. Can't go wrong.

I thought this was a good entertaining story with well described characters and storyline. After reading the first book I kept waiting for the dogs to get in on the action. They were obviously well taken care of, and one was kicked once, but seemed to mainly hang out in the stables.

I enjoyed this book immensely. The characters were nicely developed. The first book in this series had me wanting more of Mr Black. Still want more

GC has built upon his intriguing character, Johnny Black...a true Western...make that Texas hero...could not stop reading as the story kept me hooked...a solid second book of what I anticipate will be a series where each book gets better and better. A must read for western readers, especially those of Texas and those who like stories where the hero gets the girl.

What if you're visited by an elderly person? What if you're afraid of you and your children's brains turning to indiscriminate mush? The Victorians had these problems all figured out, and they didn't even have Google. What excuse do we have? In addition to owning a deck of cards however, you will need to know how to use them. What use is this low-tech solution if you have to spend half an hour scouring the internet for semi-coherent instructions every time you want to try a new game? So, to complete your self-sufficiency, you'll need a book.I found the instructions in this book to be very clear, and satisfactorily thorough. In comparison to books like Hoyle's, or McNeely's Ultimate Book, which to me read more like Encyclopedias than actual learning guides, you shouldn't ever need to consult Google in order to successfully learn how to play the games. At times I did find there were gaps. Once, during my and my partner's first-ever game of Spite and Malice (which is a delightfully horrible game), we realized only halfway through playing that we were allowed to look at our own hands. Someone familiar with card games might laugh, but as a novice you won't take anything for granted. So, once in a while, there are things I wouldn't mind the author taking a little extra space to clarify. Other than that, the book is awesome. I especially love the clean layout of the pages, which presents the information in a streamlined, organized, and fun way. The games are sorted to allow you to be able to quickly find and choose them based on who you're playing with, and how many are playing. There are games you can play with children, and games you can play with professional poker experts (although there's no poker). I mostly play cards with only one other person, so I was concerned there wouldn't be enough two-person games. I was wrong, and the book makes them easy for me to pick out.The games are sorted into chapters. Chapter 1 is Capturing Games, Chapter 2 Shedding Games, Chapter 3 Patience Games, Chapter 4 Rummy Games, and Chapter 4 Trick-Taking Games. There are descriptions of each of these categories in the Introduction, as well as a small Glossary of important card-playing terms that you can refer to. On the actual pages describing how to play each game, the author lists the difficulty of the game, the number of players required to play it, and the object of the game at the top of the page, next to the name of the game. For visual learners, there are pictures and examples along with the body of the text.Unless you just collect books about cards, this is the one to get. It's concise without being overwhelming. There are 57 games total, each one broken down into practical steps. It actually teaches you how to play, and and it looks nice while doing it.

This book has a lot of great games in it. They are given levels of difficulty as well, making it easy to start with smaller kids. We have had fun discovering both new games and old favorites we had forgotten about. Easy to read instructions. Amazing how much fun you can have with a deck of cards!

Definitely playing with adults supervision. Just because some of the ways that they teach these cards games would be difficult for a child to understand. However I guess that is the point of it being a family card game book. Good book though, would recommend to others.

This book had some games (i.e. Spite and Malice) that I played with my mother/grandmother as a kid, that I could never find anything online regarding the rules to teach to someone else. I honestly thought some of these games listed in here were made up by someone in my family for a VERY long time, because NO ONE else had ever heard of them. This book is what I have been looking for for years. I have battled emotional eating and have tried every diet in the book!!! This book finally gets to the bottom of what my real problem is....emotional eating. For example, I used the journaling and questions about anger and annoyance before Thanksgiving when I would have to be around someone who really pushes all my buttons. I was not only able to not eat my way through the week of Thanksgiving, I have also made some progress in that relationship, thereby easing my need to eat!!!While this is not a diet book in and of itself, it gave me the missing piece to use with the diet I have chosen to work through the non-hunger reasons I eat. I have lost 70 lbs, and am still making progress!! Thank you Barb, for sharing your thoughts with us!!

This book wasn't really what I expected, it was better. I love the way the different "reasons for eating" was divided into categories. When I want to eat but am not really hungry, I just go to the section i need. I read it, I read the scriptures and I've been able to forego unnecessary eating. i just started using the book so will wait a few months and post an update later. But so far, so good..

The book mentions cool things you can do with Trello but doesn't explain how. Maybe the author should have written a longer book to make it really useful. At the end of the day I felt my time was wasted, even though the book didn't cost much.

This book is a concise companion to Trello's own user manual boards and short introductory articles that can be found on the Internet. I would recommend it to novice users who want to get a compact overview of Trello's nature and possibilities. But if you've been actively using Trello and investigating its features for over a week, this book won't necessarily add any value.

I found this book a quick read yet informative and full of tips on how to make the most of Trello. It was easy to see how the examples could be used in a broad range of projects.

Totally delightful quick read. I thought it would be just a few new tips and hints and it blew me away his end-to-end approach to using this tool for managing projects. This book is written in a delightfully engaging style and I was able to adapt his examples for my needs. While he is a power user of this tool, it provides very approachable advice!

About the Author

Native Coloradan Peter McBride has always been passionate about flying, particularly low and slow. That aerial bug helped lure him into a self-taught photography career that has taken him on assignment to over 60 countries for National Geographic, Smithsonian, and Outside magazines. His photography, writing, and video work have earned him accolades internationally, and in 2007 he was awarded a Knight Fellowship for professional journalists at Stanford University. When not on assignment, Peter can be found on his family s ranch cutting hay or chasing water (irrigating), or around his home in nearby Basalt, Colorado, where he serves as a town councilman.Jonathan Waterman has worked as a wilderness guide, magazine editor, park ranger, director of a small press, guard dog agitator, and freelance writer. He has authored ten books, including Running Dry: AJourney From Source to Sea Down the Colorado River (National Geographic Books, 2010) and five television documentaries. The recognition for his work includes magazine and book awards, a literary fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and an Emmy. He has created a wall map of the Colorado River Basin, and with coauthor Peter McBride, The Colorado River: Flowing Through Conflict photography exhibit, touring the West.

If you are interested in water issues in the Southwest, this book is for you. The Colorado River has become a perfect symbol of what happens when we ask too much of a limited resource: it disappears. In fact, the Colorado no longer regularly reaches the sea. Dams, irrigation and now climate change have drastically reduced the once-mighty river. Is it a sign of more things to come? The authors take us on a trip down the Colorado River, from the mountains through the resevoirs and into the basins. Approximately 30 million people rely on it's water which flows through 14 coal/gas plants & 107 hydroelectric turbines. Many of our friends browse this 9 x 12 coffee table book because it has has gorgeous pictures on every page and awesome aerial photography (I'd buy it for the many crossover aerial photos alone). Coupled with a few helpful maps, the commentary about water issues facing the Southwest will help you understand why you hear of so much more news about "droughts" and mandated water conservation programs.

Colorado is so beautiful and diverse, and this book really brings it out. It's relaxing, and informative - I'll be visiting a few of the areas this summer.

The Colorado River is the defining watershed of the great U.S. Southwest, and the story of what we have done with it is fascinating. McBride's photographs are so wonderful, and so descriptive of the power and beauty of this river, and the degradation is has suffered at our hands.

For the concept and the execution (two authors working together, one on the ground and one taking pictures by air), I think it's quite lovely to look at. It's a good coffee table book.The problem is that people tend to flip through coffee table books for pretty pictures and then be done with it-- I actually brought this book to some people I know who I thought would be interested, and the comments were pretty much in the range of "oh, these pictures are disturbing and I don't want to look anymore."So basically if you're really interested in the subject, it's probably not going to be as substantive as you're hoping for, and the pictures aren't going to draw people in the way the authors hoped. But for people looking for a wide breadth of knowledge on the subject, it's a good addition to your collection.

Peter McBride's photographic talents shine throughout this book. Johnathan Waterman obvioiously experienced the length of the Colorado River with descriptions that are alluring and thought provoking. This is a great book for anyone interested in water and especially scarce western water.

If you own a copy of Reisner's Cadillac Desert you'll want this too. Peter McBride's photo opus on the Colorado is the first I've seen that tracks the river from the high mountain headwaters all the way down to the sea. McBride's artistry is stunning, and the collection is well edited. Just as impressive is his command of the myriad issues that that make the Colorado River the most loved and litigated in the United States. In both the modest text and the images themselves, McBride and co-author Waterman demonstrate their mastery and love of the subject.Last year Verlyn Klinkenborg wrote in the New York Times "if we're not nostalgic for water now - in all its forms - soon we will be. We're entering a climatically uncertain world, so perhaps now is the time to visit water, before it is piped, tubed, desalinated, and geothermalized everywhere...Go now." The threats are very real, and many people are working hard to save the Colorado River before it's too late. Even if you can't make a visit soon, you can get your fill in this book.
